This workshop on mountain biking is ideal for riders who have basic skills and want to improve. MTB Training course include introduction to braking, cornering and climbing, descending, balance skills, maneuvering over and around small obstacles, safety and trail etiquette. This workshop is great for new riders who have Basic Mountain biking experience and want to learn or improve their skills, and want to meet other people who love to ride. We provide ourselves in delivering the most professional, far reaching and progressive youth mountain biking lessons in Nepal. Our instructor is certified Mountain biking coach by Nepal Cycling Association, have Wilderness First Responder training and professionally trained here at Gravity Nepal. Your kids are in good hands with us! Our training program cater to every riders from those who are just starting to ride off-road, all the way through to those that are looking to further explore the trails around Kathmandu, meet new biking buddies and improve their riding techniques.

The bike skills course is available to anyone below 16 years. Our aim is to introduce participants (students) to BASIC skills and techniques required for mountain biking. Upon completion of the course, participants will be equipped with necessary skills and techniques that will help them to ride better and safer in any given condition. This course will also develop riders confidence level and reinforce safety
What (riding) experience will we need?
Everyone is welcome (Participants with very basic bike handling skills are welcome). Our mountain bike instructors are well qualified (National Cycling Association certified coach) and have great experience in training young kids.
What fitness level do we require?
Mountain biking is by its very nature is demanding. You will definitely require basic level of fitness. For beginners, we normally focus on fundamentals which would not require very good fitness (will be training within school compound).
This said, by their nature, the courses are instruction oriented where techniques are demonstrated and explained in detail; all participants will then attempt the techniques to optimize individual skill levels.
Mountain bike (For Bike skills session)
Any well serviced mountain bike with off road tires will be adequate but front suspension would be an advantage. All participants need to bring their own mountain bikes and helmet for the skills camp. We will also provide mountain bikes on hire if required.

Simple Bike Maintenance and trail mechanics
– Spinal and head injury are both life threat. Prevention is better than cure.
– Always find a bike that is of your size. Size does matter!
– How to clean your bike.
– How to fix a puncture, replace a brake pad, how to tune your bike.
Riding pack and apparels
– Allen Keys, tubes, pump, chain links, chain lube

Riding steep downhill, Rock garden and roots
Biking Steep downhill, rock garden or root section require special skills. No matter how big or small or how technical it gets, the BASICS remain the same! We will teach you the basics!
Jumps : Step by step procedure to learn how to jump or make drops on the trail.
Pump: (Don’t use your hand to pump rather use your hips. Keep your weight behind the seat so that if incase your tumble, you don’t fly over the handle bar) Wheels lifts and bunny hops: These are one of the most essential techniques if you like trail riding. It will take some time for you to learn how to lift those wheels but once you master it, you will love trail riding
